Visit at the zoo

This time I had bad luck with the weather. The forecast called for "a sunny summer day until noon" but it was all cloudy and started to rain by 11am. I did however manage to get two good pictures out of the wet day:

A tiger looking at the onlookers:

...and a polar bear cub ("Hey, where's my coke?")

Nice pictures. I especially like the Polar Bear. I saw from the exif info that you used a Canon camera. Mind if I ask which lens?

I use a Canon EOS 300D and for the animal photography I have a Sigma 50-500 Zoom lens - heavy as but quite affordable for a 500mm lens. Didn't need much zoom on the polar bear though, more equilibrium :) the bear enclosure is fenced off with a portable iron fence to give the cubs a little more quiet but you can't put your camera over the class without standing on something (the fence ;)

I've been looking at that exact lens. I'm saving up for either a Canon 100-400 mm or the Sigma 50-500. I haven't decided which, but given the cost I have plenty of time to make up my mind.

I have a Canon 40D and just got back from a zoo shoot myself.

Thanks again for the information.
